My OJPro800 (a909) is leaking ink (similar to that described in this post/chain). The printer is out of warranty. Is repair feasible? I saw references to a "fix" but could not find it in the thread.

The 8500 has a silly spitoon under the ink jet cartridge head parking area, any leaking cartridges and ink drips into it and eventually, you try to move it and all the psitoon spills all over. The ink made me itch and I had to take soem benydril to make it go away but that is just me. It must have something toxic in it. There is no fix for this as the poor design makes it so you cant manually empty the spitton. Speak with Customer Service and mention this bad desing and ask fora discount of the upgarded printer. I liked the 8500 but I love my new OfficeJet pro 8740.
