Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

EVERYTIME I TRY TO PRINT PHOTOS THE INK WON'T DRY AND IT SMEARS OFF THE PAPER EVEN IF I LET IT SIT FOR DAYS.

There are a few things to check to address ink not drying on photo paper with your Envy 4520 printer:

  • Make sure the correct Photo paper type is selected in the Paper/Quality tab of the driver.  If you print on Photo paper with Plain Paper selected it will not properly apply ink and the black areas will not dry properly.
  • Make sure the photo paper you are using is designed for inkjet printing.  Unless the photo paper has the proper coatings for inkjet printing it will not dry properly.
  • Make sure you are printing on the proper side of the photo paper.

Thanks for using the HP forum.

 

Are you using HP Photo paper or other brands of Photo media  (which brand)?

 

Can you try using HP Photo paper and let us know if that resolves your issue.
