I bought this printer in 2011 and it is still new in the box.  I was in a car accident shortly after I bought it and am just now trying to get it set up.  I am worried about the ink cartridges being dried up after this long a time and want to know how to proceed.

Is there a way to test them without damaging the printer?  Do I just toss them and buy new ones?

Please advise.

Thanks for your help with this.

Welcome to the HP Community

HP Cartridges have 2 years of warranty.

I would suggest you try using the cartridge for the setup if they are unopened.

If you getting any error try using a new ink cartridge and check what happens.

Keep me posted.

Have a great day!

Cheers:)
