I just bought the new macAIr 2020 with Catalina 10.15 as its macOS.
Unfortunately I can't seem to install my HPDeskjet Ink Advantage 2135 as it keeps getting stuck in "Gathering device information"... FOR HOURS. I am using ethernet and have tried rebooting several times.
I then check to my Settings > Printers > And it turns out I can add HP Printer 2130 series.
But when I try to print nothing comes out, the printer icon only appears briefly and then disappears. There is also no queue in the printer settings.
I have rebooted and reset printer settings to redo everything but still nothing works! Any help is greatly appreciated.

@magnoliafleur, Welcome to HP Support Community!
I see that you have issues installing the printer on your Mac Computer and I appreciate your efforts in trying to resolve the issue. I'd further suggest you follow the document HP Printers - HP Easy Start Software Installation Fails to isolate and resolve the issue.
Also, Update the printer firmware
Download available firmware updates from the HP website
With the printer on and connected to the computer, go to HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads, and then identify your printer. Look for and install any available firmware updates. Refer to the document HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware
Try printing.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
