I want to sign up for the Instant Ink program. In one place on the website my HP Officejet Pro 8600 is listed as compatible but when I go to sign up only the HP Officejet Pro 8610, 8620 & 8630 are listed. My question is, can I sign up my HP Officejet Pro 8600 as any of the listed 8600 series printers and do they all use the HP950 & HP951 cartridges?

Welcome to the HP Forums 🙂 I would like to take a moment and thank you for using this forum, it is a great place to find answers. For you to have the best experience on the HP forum, you could also visit our HP Forums Guide for First Time Here? Learn How to Post and More. I see from your post you are having issues enrolling your Printer into the Instant ink program. Don't worry we're here to help you.
As you have mentioned in your post that you have purchased a HP OfficeJet 8600 printer and this printer is not listed in the list of eligible printers. However, this printer falls under HP Officejet Pro 8610, 8620 & 8630 Series, so you can choose HP OfficeJet 8610 Series while enrolling your printer.
Here's the list of eligible printers: https://instantink.hpconnected.com/us/en/ (Click on Check to see if your HP printer works with Instant Ink ▸)
I would suggest you can go through this support document for - HP Printers - Enrolling in HP Instant Ink

Beware of Instant Ink. It looks like there are several instances of Web Services (requiired for Instant Ink) failing on printers some time after subscribing which then causes issues with Error messages on your PC and on the printer itself. These messages must be acknowledged for each and every print job. This will also cause HP to not know when to send new ink.
Not saying Instant Ink isnt a good deal on the surface, just be aware that if Web Services fails on your printer you could be S.O.L.
I'm not a PC and printer novice but I've spent several hours trying to get my Web Services back up and running and have had no luck.
I'm now stuck with a printer issuing errors ever time someone in the house wants to print.

I am being told that the HP Officejet 8600 Premium printer IS NOT supported for instant ink. I get an error message
when entering the claim code that the printer is different.
Please clarify /update your solution as it currently does not work for me and your support center says it is not supported.
If there is some way to get the 8600 registered for instant ink, please do let me know.
Thanks in advance!
