The printing count is having a huge difference. On 29th I've taken printout of 55 pages and it got updated properly. But yesterday 30th I'm sure I've taken only 4 pages of printout. But it was showing 48 pages.

This has happened already once, and I thought it was my mistake and this time I've noted down this time and surprised to the extra 44 pages. Out of 4 pages, I've taken 2 pages as photo print? Is it the reason for the extra count?

Even though I'm keeping the printer off, but every time I take printout it connected through the internet. So without taking 44 pages, currently my monthly plan is over. Can you please check this?

If the problem persists, I may need to switch back to my own tonner, which is more reliable on the count.

Hi,

I've included a link below through which you can contact instant ink support  to check into it further. Pease use the country flag icon to choose your support country (logout of your accoun to see the contact options).

When you check your blank pages, be sure that they have no print whatsoever on them as even something as small as a decimal point will mean it's counted as a page.

Hi,

Instant ink should only count pages that have ink laid down. Even if it's just one word or partial print it counts as a page. If you are experiencing internet connectivity isues with your printer or turn it off regularly, this could be the reason that you are seeing more pages printed than you expected for that day - what may have happened is that the printer may have been offline in previous days when you were printing and the those pages are showing up now that you have regained connectivity.

Actually, I'm having any internet issues in my home as I was watching Netflix while I was taking the printout.

The first day when I confirmed 55 pages printed and the account also shows the same. It means that there is nothing left to carry out for the next day.

The very next day I've taken 4 pages of print and it has been counted as 48 pages. Thats what really confusing. If I'm leaving the printer for a week, and then it shows some wrong count, there are some chances of missing pages I might think. But not on the very next day.

below is the screenshot of the usage as per the instant ink page.

Hi,

It might be worth checking with other household members to check if they printed anything in that time period.

In my household Me and wife only. My kids are small they don't know how to take printout. Due to the issue, we faced before, me and wife are keeping a precise count of the pages with a counter (even if it comes back blank) near the printer. That is the reason I can give the exact number of pages.

Hi Donal.. Thanks for your suggestion. I've called up the customer care and they've opened up a case and given be back the pages. They confirmed that they'll keep track on the case.

I agree

Having the same issues.  Last month HP Instant ink claimed I printed over 120 pages, which is totally wrong.

It seems to count anything that goes to the printer eg Scans, as today I scanned 3 pages and - lo-and-behold - I have used 3 pages of printing.

It is also obvious its wrong as I received my 'replacment' ink in the post 2 weeks ago, and the ink still doesn't need changing.

There appears no way to call or contact HP, so I am hoping someone from the company will deign to read these messages as respond....

If you didn’t print the scans, they won’t count but if you scan and print the scans they will. Any printed page with ink on it counts.

If you log out of your account, you’ll find a contact number for support. It’s not visible when you’re logged in.
