Hi,
Please can someone tell me how I tell if my printer is in sleep mode? It always looks wide awake to me, & always has 4 lights on, as well as the main power button.
I have been instructed to leave it on constantly, because I am subscribed to the HP Instant ink service, which automatically detects when my ink is low, & always sends out replacements prior to when needed.
I am just concerned about energy bills, & so on.
Many thanks,
Ian.

Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd be happy to help.
You can read about sleep mode and auto off from page 19 and 21: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c05152483.pdf
Let me know if this helps.

Hi Betty,
Thank you for your reply, & sorry for my late reply! (I never received an email notification)?
I have read about sleep mode from the information that you provided., & have accessed the settings, & ticked the box to enter sleep mode after 5 minutes, but again, it still looks wide awake & illuminated.
I have tried waiting 10 minutes with both the paper draw extended & paper loaded, and with the paper draw closed, & with the paper load guise shut, but it makes no difference?
I am guessing, it is just the way it is, & it a shame it not more clearer, such as dimmer or pulsating lights to indicate it asleep.
Thanks again, & for the PM.
Ian.

Hi Betty,
I think it would be helpful if HP could fully explain difference between printer 3760 being on, & 'sleep mode', because I am struggling to see the difference, or find documentation explaining this in full.
I have just checked & I have the latest firmware.
I am due to have a smart meter fitted in a couple of weeks, & Hopefully it will give some indication of difference, if any.
Thanks again for your help & time.
Ian.
