HP OfficeJet 3830 e‑All‑in‑One Printer Series'
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello,

I purchased a 'HP OfficeJet 3830 e‑All‑in‑One Printer Series' last week - The printer came with one cartridge which I installed in the corresponding slot on the printer.

I signed upto instant ink - There was only 1 cartridge in the Box - The test print job did print black as well as a few other colours. I am however wondering if there was supposed to be a black ink cartridge with the printer - When I click on 'Click to Learn More' it says that I will not receive shipments until the error is resolved.

I would be grateful for any input on this, I have read all of the manuals and leaflets that came with the printer and can't find any reference to what should be there, it says 'Cartridges' on the outside box but does not go as far as to list what is included.

Many Thanks

Hi @GeorgeSam4

You should have received both color and black ink along with your new printer.

The Welcome Kit shipped after the enrollment will have both color and the black ink. You'll see a tracking number soon to track your shipment on your Instant Ink Account page.

Once you install the Instant Ink cartridges, the next shipment will be sent only when your printer tells us you need them. HP Instant Ink cartridges are extra high capacity, and they contain months-worth of ink depending on your usage.

HP will send you replacement cartridges before you run out of ink. When your enrolled printer is connected to the Internet, your printer automatically orders ink for you because it knows when you are low on ink.

Hello Asmita,

Thankyou for you're assistance it is much appreciated -

I havn't received the welcome kit yet but as mentioned I had installed the '1' cartridge received with the printer and enrolled for instant ink.

On my homescreen - There is an error message (See bottom of post) for the 'black ink' and then the following message when clicked. My understanding of this is that I will not receive any black ink until I install a black ink cartridge.

I have quite a bit of printing to do but am waiting to resolve this issue first - What would you suggest, is there a UK number or email address I can call to ask about this missing cartridge?

Many Thanks

Cartridge error

Either an ink cartridge is not installed or there is an issue with the installed cartridge. Replace or clean the cartridge to resolve the issue—you will not receive ink shipments until the error is resolved. Learn more about cleaning cartridges at support.hp.com. Visit the Help Center or contact HP Support for unresolved issues.
