Hi @Rocko007,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like you're dealing with a couple of issues here: the error code on your HP Envy 5530 printer and the need to reset the printer's user ID and password. Let's tackle these step by step.

Error Code C4EBA341 on HP Envy 5530:

The error code C4EBA341 usually indicates an issue with the printer's print head. Here are steps you can take to try to resolve this issue.

Reset the printer:

  • Turn off the printer, wait for about 30 seconds, and then turn it back on.
  • Check if the error persists. If it does, proceed to the next steps.

Check for Jammed Paper:

  • Make sure there is no jammed paper inside the printer.
  • Open the printer cover and check for any debris or obstructions in the print area.

Clean the Print Head:

  • Sometimes the print head can get clogged, causing this error.
  • Go to the printer's control panel, find the "Tools" or "Setup" menu.
  • Look for an option to clean the print head.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to clean the print head.

Update Printer Firmware:

  • Visit the HP Support website and download the latest firmware for your printer model.
  • Follow the instructions to update the firmware.

Resetting User ID and Password:

If you've forgotten the user ID and password for your HP Envy 5530, you'll likely need to perform a factory reset on the printer. This will reset all settings, including the user ID and password. Here's how.

Perform a Factory Reset:

  • On the printer's control panel, press the "Wireless" button and the "Cancel" button at the same time.
  • Hold them down for 5 seconds until the printer turns off.
  • Wait for a few seconds, then turn the printer back on. This should reset the printer to its factory settings.

Reconnect to Wi-Fi:

  • After the reset, you'll need to reconnect the printer to your Wi-Fi network.
  • Use the printer's control panel to navigate to the "Wireless" or "Network" settings.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to connect to your Wi-Fi network.

Reconnecting to your Laptop:

Once you've reset the printer, you'll need to reinstall the printer drivers on your laptop and reconnect it to the printer.

Reinstall Printer Drivers:

  • On your laptop, go to the HP Support website.
  • Enter your printer model (HP Envy 5530) and download the latest drivers for your operating system.
  • Install the drivers following the on-screen instructions.

Add Printer:

  • Go to your laptop's Settings or Control Panel.
  • Navigate to Devices > Printers & Scanners.
  • Click on "Add a printer or scanner" and follow the prompts to find and add your HP Envy 5530.

Additional Notes:

  • Make sure your printer is in a well-ventilated area and not exposed to extreme temperatures or humidity.

These steps should help you reset the printer and get it scanning and printing properly again.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Hi Aiden,

Thank you for your help. Everything works except the scanning. The HP Envy 5530 is saying now scanning and it stays saying now scanning  but in never scans though. What could I do to get the scanning to start working? Thanks!

Hi @Rocko007,

Thank you for your response,

If your HP Envy 5530 printer is not scanning despite indicating that it's scanning, there are several steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue.

  • Restart the Printer: Sometimes a simple restart can resolve many printer problems. Turn off the printer, wait for a few seconds, and then turn it back on.
  • Check Connection: Ensure that the printer is properly connected to your computer or network. If it's a wireless connection, check the Wi-Fi signal strength. If it's a USB connection, make sure the cable is securely connected at both ends.
  • HP Print and Scan Doctor: HP provides a free tool called HP Print and Scan Doctor, which can diagnose and resolve printing and scanning problems. You can download it from the HP website and run it to see if it can identify the issue.
  • Update Drivers: Outdated or corrupt drivers can cause scanning issues. Visit the HP official website, locate your printer model, and download the latest drivers and software for your operating system.
  • Reinstall the Software: If none of the above steps work, try uninstalling the printer software from your computer and then reinstalling it. This can often fix any software-related issues.

Try these steps one by one, testing the scanning function after each step to see if the issue is resolved.

They're telling me I have to go to the firewall settings and unblock the firewall to get the scanner to start working. How do I do that?
