HP ENVY 5660 series
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Sent print job (wirelessly) from laptop to printer.  Task/job was to print 3 different pages, one side only, 3 copies each page...for a total of 9 printed pages.

Result/Symptom:  printer prints the 3 pages, then outputs a blank piece of paper, then it starts over...and over ...and over ...and over ...etc etc etc.   doing the same thing time after time.

When the "cancel print"  "X" on the printer screen is pushed, the printer stops the job in mid page.....then in about 10 seconds resumes the same thing.

If the printer is turned off,  this seems the only to stop this.  When it is turned back on, it resumes doing the same thing.

At this point, we have about 15 iterations of this.

Even if the printer is turned off overnight, when turned back on the next day, it starts doing the same thing again!

Have worked through "HP print & scan doctor" numerous times ...to no avail.

What to DO ???

Hi,

Welcome to HP Support Forum. I think you need to remove the queue. For Windows, please try:

hold down the Windows key and press R.
from the Run window, type services.msc and hit enter.
if the machine asks for Admin you have to accept this,
look down to the print spooler service, right click it and select properties
    click on the Stop button,
browse to C:\Windows\System32\Spool\printers or C:\Windows\System\Spool\printers (this may be hidden)
delete the job inside this folder
    reboot the machine

Regards.

Stanberry, it sounds complicated but doable.  So follow Stanhein's  list.   Use a slit screen ( Open up two windows) so you can read it as you do it.  Or copy/paste his list into a Word file and print.

He mentions opening   the following in the address bar of your internet provider, such as IE:

C:\Windows\System32\Spool\printers    When I go there it's empty, but if you find something, delete it, as he says.

He mentions the files may be hidden.  While opening any File Explorer list, right click on a file, then in the general tab you can see a "hidden" box that you can check.  That makes hidden files visible.

Rebooting the machine will apply the changes.
