My friend helped me set up the new printer and now the screen is showing in some kind of character language - not English.  Printing fine, but I can't read the screen to use other features.  How do I set to English?

Hi,

Have you already installed the HP Software on your PC?

You may change the language from the software already installed, or by installing the software and selecting the language.

Please type HP into the search bar and let me know what search results are given (e.g. HP Smart, your printer name, etc.), So I may guide you further accordingly.

Additionally, is the printer connected to the computer or to the network?

Yes, the HP printer update was installed on my hard drive - HPMProp is the name of the directory - is that what you are looking for?  The computer is on a network, but I am just using it on my local and what to be able to read the screen.  It is a HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M182 wireless printer.  I appreciate your assistance!

Thanks for clarifying.

Please search for HP and open the HP Color Laserjet Pro M182 software on your PC (may be listed as M182-M185)

Under printing, click on HP Device Toolbox.

Open the System tab and select System setup, from there change the language to English.

Here is an English screenshot for a similar printer:
