Hi @tomiandbob,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your laptop!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Try these steps:

Check Printer Connection:

  • Ensure the printer is connected to the same network as your laptop.
  • Verify that there is a stable network connection. Reconnect to the Wi-Fi if necessary.

Printer Configuration:

  • Open 'Devices and Printers' from the Control Panel to ensure the Canon printer is selected as the default printer.
  • Remove and then re-add the printer in Windows settings. Go to Settings > Devices > Printers & scanners.

Update Printer Drivers:

  • Visit the Canon Support site to download the latest drivers for your printer model compatible with Windows 11.
  • Install the newest driver and restart your laptop.

Run the Printer Troubleshooter:

  • In Windows, search for and run the “Printer Troubleshooter” which can detect and resolve common printing issues.

Clear Print Queue:

  • Open Print Spooler by searching for "Services" and selecting Print Spooler > Restart.

Firewall/Antivirus Settings:

  • Temporarily disable firewall or antivirus software that might be blocking the connection between your laptop and printer.

Check for Windows Updates:

  • Ensure your Windows 11 OS is updated to the latest version as updates often include fixes for compatibility issues.

Review Printer Status:

  • Ensure the printer is showing online and ready status.

I hope this helps.
