Printer slows down when printing a job then stops printer

then give a notice of paper jam

when the paper has not jammed just stopped mid way through printing

More details please. Is there an error code on screen when you have a "jam". A jam does not always mean damaged paper. Pages that take too long due to mis-picks would be labelled a jam. Where is the paper in the printer when it stops. What is the page count of the printer? What is the condition of rollers in the trays. What is the hardware configuration, how many trays? What is the status of the PM kit in the printer? Have you done any work to the physical hardware recently?

Paper is about 50 percent into the printer then stops

no work has been done

but other days it works with out any problems

50%, so at the fuser? Before the fuser? In the registration assembly? In the output assembly? Can you post a picture of where the paper is, also how many pieces of paper are involved? What is the page count of the printer? These types of jams are often caused by worn or dirty pickup and feed rollers but on a machine this old, if there are any solenoids involved they may be sticking and causing errors.
