I have a printing problem here where the second light will flash orange out of three lights on the printer. I have an HP LaserJet 1320 which is attached to a macOS computer running Sonoma 14.5. I am attempting to print from Adobe Acrobat Professional, Continous Release, 2024.002.20893. When trying to print an RMA label, which is mostly a bar code, after starting the print job, I will first get a flashing green light indicating that the job has started. After about a minute, there will be a flashing orange light without any other action from the printer. Resetting the printer by turning it off and back on again is all that is doable to get the printer back to Ready status by the solid green light. I tried printing the same PDF in Preview and the PDF did print.

When the orange light is flashing, what happens if you press the green button? If it prints a page then likely you have a paper size mismatch, meaning the paper the job wants to print on is not loaded in the printer, try loading the paper in the manual feed slot to see if it prints then. That or the job is too complex for the printer. The barcode might also be the issue and you might have to select print as image function in the driver. Not all printers understand all barcodes and will halt if they do not know how to print them.

Hello, and thanks for the response. Before posting my issue, I had already checked, that Paper Tray #2 had paper in it before printing. I also removed both the Paper Tray and Toner Cartridge to make sure that there wasn't any paper stuck or jammed causing the orange light to flash. If I selected the button below it, solid green, then the printer would reset itself and be ready to print. A test page does print successfully if I open the door at the rear of the printer. I still am baffled at what could cause such a thing. All I could think of is what you mentioned in your reply which is the barcode is much too complex for the printer to understand and print. I wonder if there is another solution for the issue I am experiencing.
