HP LaserJet Pro MFP M29w Printer
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I follow all the instructions to do manual duplex printing, but when the first side has printed, I get the dialog box with "continue"  button. I reload the paper and then I get a notification "printer requires your attention". I would expect that, but what attention? The yellow triangle is flashing, but the only thing that turns it off is the red "X" which cancels the print job. Clicking on the notification just brings up "diagnose and Fix" which is a total waste of time. The virtual assistant is useless. What am I missing here?

I'm new to HP. Been doing this easily on my ageing Samsung printer for years.

OK the SOLUTION:

After 1 1/2 hours on the phone to HP technical support, we discovered that in order to print the second side of a document you have to press the "Copy" button. Who knew? The tech support guy didn't know. Not present in any HP documentation that we could find. We discovered it together in a Youtube video. How sad is that?

Anyway, I'm now happy with the printer.

Ensure that you are using the correct HP driver and not a Microsoft IPP driver. On your computer go to control panel>devices and printers and right click on the icon for your printer and select "printer properties" from the drop down menu. Then click on the advanced tab and make sure the driver type showing is not either Microsoft IPP or a CLASS driver, both of which do not properly support all features. Reinstall if the wrong driver is installed

Thanks for the reply. Checked the driver and it is the correct HP Laserjet driver. Any other suggestions?

Can anyone help with the OP?

I can't believe there is no manual for this printer. The "generic" instructions for manual duplex printing just do not work.  I'm giving it one more chance before I box it up and send it back.

Anyone?

TIA
