HP LaserJet Pro M477

Hello,

I have a problem with my LaserJet Pro M477 printer.
I had a hole in the transfer belt and the pink roller inside the fuser unit was damaged.

So, I decided to change these elements: the transfer belt and 2 rollers, but I now have a printing problem:

The pages are blue, there's often dried powder on the pages, or the powder doesn't stick to the pages.
(Note that when I printed a page text, the page was perfect without any problem)...

Any ideas? Thanks in advance

Hi @Goan,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like you're experiencing issues with print quality after replacing the transfer belt and rollers in your LaserJet Pro M477 printer. Here are some steps and considerations to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the problem.

Check for Toner Cartridge Issues

  • Shake the Toner Cartridges: Sometimes toner cartridges can develop clumps or uneven distribution of toner powder. Take out each toner cartridge and gently shake it side to side to redistribute the toner.
  • Replace Toner Cartridges: If shaking doesn't resolve the issue, try replacing the toner cartridges, especially if they are old or were affected when the transfer belt was damaged.

Clean the Printer

  • Clean the Inside of the Printer: Use a clean, dry cloth to wipe away any toner dust or debris inside the printer, especially around the toner cartridge bays and the transfer belt area.
  • Clean the Transfer Belt: Ensure the transfer belt is clean. Use a lint-free cloth lightly dampened with water (do not use alcohol or other solvents) to gently wipe the transfer belt to remove any toner or dust buildup.

Verify Installation of New Parts

  • Check Transfer Belt Installation: Ensure that the transfer belt is installed correctly and securely. Make sure all connectors are properly seated.
  • Inspect Rollers: Double-check that the new rollers are installed correctly and that there are no obstructions or loose parts around them.

Perform Printer Maintenance

  • Calibrate the Printer: Laser printers often have a calibration process that helps ensure optimal print quality. Check your printer’s manual for instructions on how to perform calibration.
  • Update Firmware: Ensure your printer has the latest firmware installed. Sometimes firmware updates can resolve print quality issues.

Test Different Print Settings

  • Adjust Print Settings: Try adjusting print quality settings in your printer driver settings. Sometimes selecting a higher print quality mode can improve print output.
  • Print a Diagnostic Page: Most printers have a built-in diagnostic page option. Print a diagnostic or configuration page to check if the problem persists across different types of prints.

By systematically checking each of these areas, you should be able to identify and hopefully resolve the issue with the blue tint, powder on pages, or poor toner adhesion you're experiencing.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Unfortunately nothing solved the problem, I used new cartridges, I inspected all the parts and everything was assembled as originally, I just changed 1 roller (the pink one) and the transfer belt.

I don't understand
