MackBookAir (2020) has always been communicating difficult and slow with my laserjet 1010, but at least it always worked anyway (after a reset and sometimes disconnecting the cables a few times)
Since today it totally stopped working at all. Sometimes the computer suddenly shows the print is finished 100% while it hasn't print at all. Or it stays in idle.
Don't know how to make it work again

Thank you for your help John.
Unfortunately, I couldn't find a way to download any update drivers that are compatible for my Mac book air, because the updates seemed to have stopped somewhere at o.s. 10 or 11 (I'm currently using Ventura 13.4.1)
But I have some good news as well; for some mysterious reason it started working again..! I'll probably never find out what the problem was. Didn't change the settings either (the ones I tried, I've immediately set them back to original when it didn't seem to help)
Production dates of the LJ1010 is (I believe) from 2003 to 2007. Guess it's getting more difficult for this oldtimer to keep up with the latest technology.
Anyhow, if possible I hope to be able to keep this one for the rest of my life. It's the nicest printer I ever had since the '90's

If your HP LaserJet 1010 printer is not connecting to your MacBook Air M1 (2020), you can try the following steps to troubleshoot the issue:
Check cable connection: Ensure that the USB cable connecting your printer to the MacBook Air is securely plugged in on both ends. Try using a different USB cable or port to eliminate the possibility of a faulty connection.
Update printer drivers: Visit the HP support website and check if there are updated printer drivers available for your LaserJet 1010 printer model that are compatible with macOS. Download and install the latest drivers on your MacBook Air to ensure compatibility and proper functioning.
