Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have been using an older printer in our inventory during the pandemic.  It is an HP color laserjet cp1215.  It has been working fine until 2 days ago.  Now i have two flashing lights and anytime i try to print it is in an error state and will not print.  It has the magenta indicator and the triangle with the exclamation point both blinking.  I figured it was just the color being low.  I do not have the disc that origianlly came with the printer, but have installed new drivers from the hp site.  Nothing has worked.  I have shut down both the computer and the printer.  I have unplugged the printer from the computer and reconnected it, and I have removed the device from my printer.  I am trying to figure out how to print at least in black right now.  Any help is appreciated.

Hi@hurdr,@, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

I would like to take a moment and thank you for using this forum, it is a great place to find answers.

As I understand there are print quality issues within the HP Color LaserJet CP1215 printer,

Don't worry as I have a few steps to help, however, to provide an accurate solution I need a few more details:

Did you upgrade the firmware and the drivers of your printer? if you haven't, Please click here and get it done.

Have you attempted to print from different software to check if the issue persists?

In the meantime, I have a few steps that should help:

Solution one: Remove any protective tape from the print cartridges

Print quality issues occur if protective tape remains on the print cartridges.

Solution two: Print from a different software program

Try printing from a different software program. If the page prints correctly, the problem is with the software program from which you originally printed.

Solution three: Adjust, reload, and change the paper

The most common cause for print quality issues is the paper that is not compatible with the product.
This can result in poor paper feeding, or in poor toner adhesion. Make sure that the paper or media type meets HP's specifications.

Solution four: Check the printer environment

The product environment can directly affect print quality and is a common cause for print quality or paper feeding issues.

Keep me posted. Happy to help!
