My Laserjet Pro MFP M148fdw gives 58.04 error Power Outage detected on display after turning on. Restarts, unplugging etc do not help. Any ideas before I'll dump this on in the bin? (like the previous one?). Obviously I'm just out of warranty.

Hi @NorthHome,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
HP LaserJet Pro MFP M148fdw indicates a power outage detection problem. Before considering disposing of the printer, you might want to try a few troubleshooting steps.
- Power Source: Ensure that the printer is connected to a stable power source and there are no fluctuations in the power supply.
- Power Cycle: Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, and wait for a few minutes. Then plug it back in and turn it on again.
- Firmware Update: Check if there is a firmware update available for your printer model on the HP support website. Sometimes, updating the firmware can resolve certain issues.
- Check Cables: Make sure all cables, including power and USB cables, are securely connected.
- Printer Reset: Consult your printer manual for instructions on how to perform a factory reset. This may help clear any configuration issues.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

Thank you for your reply. Prior to reading this reply I've tried all of these options already, the error remained. I am very disappointed with the build quality of HP printers (second one in 5 years). Printer has now been released of its duties and has been picked up by the trash. As for HP: no more HP products are allowed in this household. I expect printers and other IT related products (even if it's consumer prods) to last longer than 2 years, I think that's a reasonable expectation. Unfortunately HP has not been able to live up to that expectation, this is the second printer labeled HP with issues within 2 years. I am switching brands and will never look back at HP.
