Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)
[EN] Dear, once unpacking the M281cdw device I removed all of the securing tape as described in the data sheet included in the packing. Hereby I also removed the protection tape of the ADF scan area, so that now once trying to scan via the ADF the paper gets stuck. How can I fix this problem? Is there kind of a maintainance/repair kit I can use?

@StP84 Welcome to HP Community!

I understand that the ADF scanner glass protection tape removed.

Please provide the picture of the ADF scanner glass. It will help us to provide a solution.

In the meantime, perform the below steps and check.

Please perform the hard reset and check.

  1. Turn the printer on, if it is not already on.

  2. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.

  3. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.

  4. Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.

  5. Wait at least 60 seconds.

  6. Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.

  7. Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.

  8. Turn on the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.

  9. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you proceed

Clear paper jams in the document feeder Use the following procedure to check for paper in all possible jam locations related to document feeder. When a jam occurs, the control panel might display a message and an animation that assists in clearing the jam.

1. Open the document feeder cover.

2. Remove any jammed paper.

3. Close the document feeder cover.

4. Lift the document feeder input tray to provide better access to the document feeder output bin, and then remove any jammed paper from the output area.

5. Open the scanner lid. If the paper is jammed behind the white plastic backing, gently pull it out.

6. Lower the scanner lid.

NOTE: To avoid jams, make sure the guides in the document feeder input tray are adjusted tightly against the document. Remove all staples and paper clips from original documents. Original documents that are printed on heavy, glossy paper can jam more frequently than originals that are printed on plain paper.
