I have the Color Laserjet m553. It has started to display the "Encryption Credentials have expired" error message when I try to print. I am using macOS Monterey. Strangely, one of my computers prints fine, but all the others give the error.
I have followed the instructions in the Knowledge Base (https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c06447928) but this does not help. I have created a new certificate multiple times. I have removed and reinstalled the printer multiple times. I have updated the firmware on the printer. I have exhausted all of the suggestions I can find on this forum. When I try using the assistant to chat with support, it fails with a technical error when I enter the error message to create a case file.
This is quite frustrating. I did nothing, and now a security error has made a boat anchor out of my printer. We are a small office environment, we don't need encryption. I have tried disabling all the security protocols in the printer console. Nothing seems to work.
Any other thoughts on how to fix this?

There are various suggestions at this link for addressing this issue, some of which are not covered in the HP document: https://appletoolbox.com/encryption-credentials-have-expired-mac/

The document you reference has some useful suggestions. What I did to finally solve the problem was to install the printer using IPP rather than Bonjour. I had to download and install the HP driver package in order for the printer to be recognized.

I don't have a LaserJet, but instead an OfficeJet with the same issue. After lots and lots of attempts to fix this without success, I finally found the following which has me printing on my Mac. 🙂
