Hi @onyxdoc,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be happy to help you!

If you're experiencing a "Media Jam" issue with your HP Smart Tank 7301, here are some general steps you can take to clear the jam:

Turn off the printer: Ensure that the printer is turned off before attempting to clear the jam. This helps prevent any damage and ensures your safety.

Open the input tray and access doors: Open the input tray and any other access doors or covers to expose the paper path. Refer to your printer's manual for specific instructions on how to access these areas.

Remove any loose paper: Gently remove any loose or partially fed paper. Make sure to check both the input tray and the output tray for any paper that might be causing the jam.

Check for stuck paper: Look for any paper that may be stuck in the rollers or any other parts of the paper path. Carefully remove any stuck paper, avoiding tearing it.

Check the print carriage: If your printer has a print carriage, make sure it can move freely. If it's stuck, gently move it to its normal position.

Inspect for foreign objects: Check for any foreign objects, such as paper clips or small items, that might have fallen into the printer. Remove them carefully.

Reload paper: Once you've cleared the jam, reload the paper into the input tray, making sure it's properly aligned.

Close doors and turn on the printer: Close all access doors and covers securely. Turn on the printer and check if the "Media Jam" issue persists.

Run a test print: Print a test page to ensure that the printer is functioning correctly after clearing the jam.
