Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

After booting up an error box appears on my desktop.  Upper left hand corner is  RunDLL.  Center of box is a big red circled X.  Then the following statement:

 

There was a problem starting C:\Program Files\HP\HP

OfficeJet 3830 series\bin\HPStatusBL.dll

 

The specified module could not be found.

Error message "HP Status BL.dll” – module not found

 

Printer has been uninstalled / removed – error message persists

  • Open File Explorer (formally Windows Explorer)
  • Type (copy and paste) into the address bar and press Enter:

                      %appdata%\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup

  • Delete (drag the file to Trash bin) the shortcut for monitor ink alerts

 

 

Example Path:

C:\Users\Dragon\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup
