HP 8610 All in One printer

I was getting a message on the my printer of "Missing or Failed Printhead".  I went through the online suggestions of turning on/off to reset the unit, changed the color & black ink cartridges and came up that I needed a new printhead.  I ordered a new printhead through Amazon.  It was easy to install and is EXACTLY the same as the original.  I get the exact message of "Missing or Failed Printhead".  I've tried the online chat which didn't offer any other solutions.  I attempted to contact HP and that didn't help.  I don't want to just get a new printer...this one is 3 years old.  I'm looking for suggestions and hope someone has them.

Thanks,

If the issue persists, this is a hardware issue.
