Msg says remove packaging, turn off printer and back on. I have done this several times and Dan see no tape or cardboard. Ink cartridges are positioned at the far right.

Hi,

Thanks for using the HP forum.

Have you tried to check if there is any packaging material inside  the the printer printing zone area?

Open the dorr of the printer as you would to access the ink cartridges and check if there are any packaging materials.

Thanks.

One long white strip removed. Now the printer gets NO power. I have triple-checked the cord, the outlet and tried various ways of holding the power button and it has no visible signs of life. When I removed a white strip inside the cartridge area did I murder it?

Hi,

Thanks for the feedback.

Could you take a photo of the long white strip that was removed? It's usually a cardboard or tape to be removed.

If it's no power's a different issue altogether. (may or may not be due to the white strip but have to see to confirm)

If it's under warranty, would suggest that you call for support or bring back to the store for exchange for the no power and ask the store owners to help you remove all packaging for the replaced printer before you leave.

Thanks.

Hi,

Can take a small torch and shine inside the carriage area (right and Left) to see if there are any debris?

Nothing much we can do if you cannot find any debris and cannot setup your printer.

May want to get a replacement from the retail shop or contact HP?
