I have just bought a new desk top computer and I did test my printer (HP Deskjet 3520) successfully printing off a document.
However now when wanting to do the same I am getting multiple different Error Codes even when just switching on the printer. Tried taking out cartridges and reinserting them Also tried switching off printer, but to no avail.
Is there a simple solution or should I buy a new replacement?

Hi @RobN2,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd be glad to help you!
I understand how frustrating it can be when a printer stops working after initially working fine. Let's try some troubleshooting steps to resolve the issue with your HP Deskjet 3520.
- What specific error codes are you seeing on the printer's display or in the software?
- Have you tried connecting the printer to your computer via USB or is it connected wirelessly?
- Have you recently updated or changed any settings on your computer or printer (like firmware updates or driver installs)?
Reset the Printer:
- Sometimes a reset can clear any lingering errors. To reset the printer, turn it off, unplug the power cord from both the printer and the wall outlet, wait for about 60 seconds, then plug everything back in and power it on.
Check for Paper Jams:
- Even if no error message says so, paper jams can cause various error codes. Open the printer’s paper tray and check inside for any stuck paper or debris that might be causing the issue.
Check Ink Cartridges and Connections:
- You mentioned reinserting the cartridges, but it's also worth ensuring that they are correctly seated and that no protective tape (if recently replaced) is still covering the cartridge contacts. Clean the cartridge contacts gently with a lint-free cloth if necessary.
Reinstall Printer Drivers:
- If the error codes persist, it might be a driver issue. Uninstall the printer from your computer, restart your PC, and then reinstall the printer drivers either from the HP website or using the installation CD that came with the printer. Alternatively, use the HP Smart app to reconnect the printer.
Run HP's Printer Diagnostic Tool:
- HP provides a Print and Scan Doctor tool that can help diagnose and fix common printing issues. Download and run the tool from HP's official website.
If these steps do not resolve the issue, and you're still encountering multiple error codes, it could indicate a hardware problem with the printer that might not be easily fixable.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance
