HP Officejet Pro 8600 Premium e-All-in-One - N911n

Getting Printer Failure message --- followed the tutorial to remove the basket that holds the 4 ink cartridges and then disassembled the basket, cleaned up all the gunk (printer has been installed in 2011), reassembled the basket, put it back inside the printer.  After powering it off/on I get the same failure message.  I then pulled the plug, waited 60 seconds before plugging the power cord back in and then plugging the cord into the wall socket.  Same error exists.  If it is a printhead (the basket) I will get a new one.  I just dont want to throw money at a part only to find out there was something else wrong.  I would get a new printer, but HP doesn't seem to have (or advertise) a printer with 2 paper trays so I can print 8x11 and 8x14
