My HP Printer 8130 series gives an error message of "Firmware Update unsuccessful". I went to the settings and chose Firmware update, choose auto update. Once I choose auto update, there is a "Next" blue button, but it doesn't work . I press the Next button and nothing happens.

Hi @Kristie11,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like you're experiencing an issue with updating the firmware on your HP Printer 8130 series. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try to resolve this problem.
- Restart the Printer: Sometimes a simple restart can resolve temporary issues. Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, wait for a few minutes, then plug it back in and turn it on again.
- Check Internet Connection: Ensure that your printer is connected to a stable internet connection. Poor connectivity can cause firmware update failures. If you're using a wireless connection, try moving the printer closer to the router or connecting it via Ethernet cable for a more stable connection.
- Update Manually: If the automatic update isn't working, you can try manually updating the firmware. Visit the HP support website and search for your printer model. Look for the latest firmware version available for download and follow the instructions provided to manually update the firmware.
- Clear Cache and Cookies: Sometimes, browser cache and cookies can interfere with the functionality of web-based printer settings. Clear your browser's cache and cookies, then try accessing the firmware update settings again.
- Use a Different Browser or Device: If you're accessing the printer settings through a web browser on a computer or mobile device, try using a different browser or device to see if the issue persists.
By following these steps, you should be able to troubleshoot and resolve the "Firmware Update unsuccessful" error message on your HP Printer 8130 series.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
