My paper tray closes, although the message will not clear about my paper tray being open. I cannot print aything with this message here, and I'm not sure what to do to resolve it. I've taken a closer look at the paper tray and one of the connectors at the far end of the tray has cracked, so maybe that's the issue, but I don't know how to currently resolve it. I printed 4 pages just minutes before the message showed up for good.

Welcome to HP Forums,
This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips to your technical queries.
Remove all the paper from the printer and close the door.
Then, I suggest you do a Hard Reset
(1) Turn the printer on, if it is not already on.
(2) Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.
(3) With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
(4) Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
(5) Wait at least 60 seconds.
(6) Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
NOTE: HP recommends connecting the printer power cord directly to the wall outlet.
(7) Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
(8) Turn on the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.
The printer might go through a warm-up period. The printer lights might flash, and the carriage might move.
Wait until the warm-up period finishes and your printer is idle and silent before you proceed.
Update the firmware for the printer using this link: https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-envy-4520-all-in-one-printer-series/5447920/document/c029191...
Restart the printer.
Keep me posted, how it goes!
Have a great day!
Cheers:)

My printer shows the message that my paper tray is open and I need to close it in order to actually print something, however, the tray is not open and the message will not go away.
it has been like this for about a month and nothing so far has worked. I tried restarting it, taking out the chords and reconnecting them, I took out the paper and put it back in again. Nothing seems to work so far and I would really like some help!
Thanks,
Lucie
