Operating System: macOS 10.14 Mojave

Hi there

My ink cartridge is printing blank pages although the ink supply indicator shows the cartridge is half full.  I have cleaned it with the printer, and also with a damp paper towel.  It still doesn't work.  It is properly and easily installed.

 

Can anyone help me?  I'm tired of buying new cartridges while they still have lots of ink in them.

 

Also, how often does one have to print to save this from happening?  It used to be that HP printer cartridges lasted forever whether they were regularly used or not.
