HP ENVY 5660 e-All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 11

My HP Envy 5660 won't print from my computer. All settings appear correct and it is connected to the network. The print job enters the queue but is deleted before it prints. I am able to print to the same printer from my Android phone. I have tried resetting the printer and unplugging it for awhile.

Hi @Ls132,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand there might be a driver or communication issue between your HP ENVY 5660 and your Windows 11 computer. Here's a step-by-step guide to troubleshoot and resolve this problem:

Step 1: Verify Printer Settings

Set the Printer as Default:

  • Press Windows + I to open Settings.
  • Go to Devices > Printers & Scanners.
  • Select your HP ENVY 5660, click Manage, and then click Set as default.

Check Printer Status:

  • Ensure the printer status is Online in the same Printers & Scanners menu.

Step 2: Clear the Print Queue

  1. Open the Run dialog by pressing Windows + R.
  2. Type services.msc and press Enter.
  3. Locate Print Spooler, right-click it, and select Stop.
  4. Navigate to C:\Windows\System32\spool\PRINTERS and delete all files in this folder.
  5. Return to the Services window, right-click Print Spooler, and select Start.

Step 3: Reinstall the Printer Driver

Remove the Printer:

  • Go to Settings > Devices > Printers & Scanners.
  • Select your printer and click Remove device.

Download the Latest Driver:

  • Visit the HP Support Website.
  • Search for "HP ENVY 5660 e-All-in-One Printer" and download the latest full-feature software for Windows 11.

Install the Driver:

  • Run the downloaded setup file and follow the on-screen instructions to reinstall the printer.

Step 4: Run the HP Print and Scan Doctor

  1. Download the HP Print and Scan Doctor.
  2. Open the tool and follow the prompts to troubleshoot printing issues.
  3. The tool can automatically detect and fix common issues, including connectivity and driver problems.

Step 5: Check the Printer Port

  1. Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
  2. Right-click your printer and select Printer Properties.
  3. Navigate to the Ports tab and ensure the correct port is selected:
    • For network connections, it should be an IP address or WSD.
    • For USB, it should be a USB Virtual Printer Port.

Step 6: Test with a New User Profile

Sometimes, user profiles on Windows can be corrupted. Create a new user account and test printing from there:

  1. Open Settings > Accounts > Family & other users.
  2. Add a new account and log in.
  3. Test printing.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
