Hi @purplelail,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

When your HP Envy Photo 7800 series printer is stuck on the startup screen, here are some steps you can try to resolve the issue.

Power Cycle the Printer:

  • Turn off the printer by pressing the power button.
  • Unplug the power cord from the printer and from the power outlet.
  • Wait for about 60 seconds.
  • Plug the power cord back into the printer and then into the power outlet.
  • Turn on the printer by pressing the power button.

Check for Jammed Paper:

  • Sometimes, a small piece of paper or debris can cause the printer to hang during startup. Open the printer's access door and check for any stuck paper or foreign objects. Remove them carefully if found.

Perform a Hard Reset:

  • If power cycling didn’t resolve the issue, try a hard reset:
    • With the printer powered on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
    • Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
    • Wait at least 60 seconds.
    • Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
    • Reconnect the power cord to the printer.

Update Firmware (if possible):

  • Sometimes firmware updates can fix startup issues. Check HP's official website for any available firmware updates for your printer model and follow their instructions to update it.

These steps should help you troubleshoot and hopefully resolve the startup issue with your HP Envy Photo 7800 series printer.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
