HP ENVY Photo 7855 All-in-One Printer
macOS 11.0 Big Sur

My printer is frozen on the HP screen (only first dot is checked on the status bar), and the power suggestions that worked for other users in this board are not working for me.  I have removed the power cord as instructed several times and have even changed outlets.  The result is the same.  This happened suddenly yesterday after it was working just fine.  I can't get the Photo Smart App to even find the printer to run diagnostics, so I believe I need the custom reset sent to me.

Thank you for posting on HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help,

I appreciate your efforts to try and resolve the issue. Let's try these steps to resolve the issue: (if the printer menu is not accessible then you won't be able to process further)

  1. Tap the Menu or Setup button on the operation panel of the 7855 printers.
  2. Scroll using the arrow buttons and select the Configure Device option.
  3. Touch the Select option utilizing the Arrow buttons.
  4. Browse and select the Restore Factory Settings option.
  5. Now touch the Select button on the operation panel of the HP Envy 7855 printer. Wait until your printer configures the default settings.
  6. Power off the printer wait for a few minutes and turn it on.
  7. Thus the printer reset process is completed.

If you still need additional technical assistance that can be better provided through one-on-one interaction or a remote session with our HP Support team if you would like to continue troubleshooting. I would request you to contact our Support and our Support Engineers should be able to sort this out. HP Support can be reached by clicking on the following link: https://www.hp.com/us-en/contact-hp/ww-phone-assist.html

Hope this helps!
