Yesterday, my printer dies!  There is power at the tip of the power cord, but printer does not turn on.  Just put in new cartridge and want to get them out prior to junking!

@Wiseguy2, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

 

Unplug the power cable from the printer, open the cartridge access door, try moving the print carriage manually and check if it moves so that you can remove the ink cartridges.

To know how to take out the ink cartridges from the printer, refer to step 2 mentioned in this document.

If the print carriage is stuck, refer to the steps mentioned in this document to solve the same.

 

Reset the printer

  1. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  2. Wait at least 60 seconds.
  3. Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
  4. Turn ON the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.
  5. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you proceed.

Note: HP recommends connecting the printer directly to a wall outlet rather than a surge protector or a power strip.

 

Also, perform the steps mentioned in this document to troubleshoot the No power issue on the printer.
