Printer showed that a firmware update was needed. I clicked okay. Now it will not print. When I click "print" it begins the print process, then closes down. Have tried the usual fixes including multiple reboots of computer, router, and printer.

Hi @Mike504,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you're experiencing firmware update issues with your HP OfficeJet Pro 8210 printer after a firmware update. Firmware updates can sometimes cause unexpected issues, but let's try a few troubleshooting steps to see if we can resolve the problem:

  • Check for Firmware Rollback Options: Check the HP support website or user manual to see if there's a way to revert to the previous firmware version. Update the firmware on an HP printer
  • Reset the Printer: Try performing a full reset of the printer to its factory settings. This can often resolve software-related issues. You can usually find instructions for resetting your specific printer model in the user manual.
  • Reinstall Printer Drivers: Uninstall the printer drivers from your computer and then reinstall them. Make sure you download the latest drivers from the HP website to ensure compatibility with any recent firmware updates.  Software and Drivers for HP OfficeJet Pro 8210 Printer series
  • Check Printer Settings: Ensure that the printer settings on your computer are configured correctly. Sometimes, updates can reset settings to default or introduce new settings that need adjustment.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
