Hi @Philippe16,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing issues with your HP OfficeJet 6950 printer. Let's try to troubleshoot the problem. Here are some steps you can take.

  • Check Cartridge Installation: Ensure that the color cartridges are properly installed in the correct slots. Make sure they are securely in place.
  • Check Cartridge Levels: Confirm that the color ink cartridges have sufficient ink. Some printers may not print in color if one or more of the color cartridges are low or empty.
  • Printer Settings: Verify that your printer settings are configured to print in color. You can check this in the print settings on your computer. Ensure that the "Color" option is selected.
  • Print a Test Page: Print a test page from your printer to check if it can produce color. Many printers have a built-in test page function that you can access from the printer menu.
  • Update Printer Drivers: Ensure that you have the latest drivers for your printer installed on your computer. You can usually find driver updates on the HP support website.
  • Clean Print Heads: Print heads can sometimes get clogged, affecting color printing. Most printers have a utility for cleaning the print heads. Refer to your printer's manual for instructions on how to do this.
  • Check Grayscale Printing: If you're unable to print colors in grayscale, it could be a separate issue. Check the grayscale or black-and-white printing settings to ensure they are configured correctly.
  • Check for Software Issues: Sometimes, issues can be related to the software. Restart both your printer and your computer to see if that resolves the problem.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
