My HP OfficeJet, pro 9015E printer stopped printing. It keeps saying it’s a supply system problem. Told me to change all the cartridges. Went out and bought all new cartridges and put them in. Still getting the same error. I don’t know if the software has to be updated or the firmware?

If that is the case, can someone tell me how I can do it directly from the printer?

Hi @birdman06460,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP OfficeJet Pro 9015 SE printer is displaying a "supply system problem" error message and has stopped printing, there could be several reasons for this issue. Here are some steps you can follow to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the problem.

  • Check Ink or Toner Levels: Make sure that you have enough ink or toner cartridges installed in the printer. If any of the cartridges are empty or low on ink/toner, replace them with new ones.
  • Check for Jammed Paper: Sometimes, a paper jam can trigger error messages. Open all the access doors and trays and check for any jammed paper. Remove any obstructions carefully.
  • Restart the Printer: Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source. Wait for a few minutes, then plug it back in and turn it on. This can often resolve minor issues.
  • Update Firmware/Software: Ensure that your printer has the latest firmware and software updates. You can check for updates on the HP website and follow the instructions to install them.
  • Inspect Cartridge Contacts: Remove the ink or toner cartridges and inspect the electrical contacts on both the cartridges and the printer. Make sure they are clean and free of any dust or debris. Clean them with a lint-free cloth if needed.
  • Reset the Printer: Try resetting the printer to its default settings. The steps may vary depending on your printer model, so consult the user manual for instructions on how to perform a factory reset.
  • Check for Updates on the Control Panel: Sometimes, you can find more detailed error messages and troubleshooting options on the printer's control panel. Navigate through the menu and see if there are any specific error codes or messages that provide more information about the issue.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
