My HP Officejet 4635 says "Ink Catirdge Problem - The following ink Cartridge(s) must be replaced" and it shows a black oval.  I ordered HP 61 black ink, took the tape off and installed it correctly.  The message remains. I have reinstalled it a few times and the message still remains.

I'm having the exact same problem.  I'm using HP cartridges purchased from HP online and they even sent me a replacement cartridge in case the first one was bad.  Still getting the  same message as you.  Did you get a resolution to your problem?  If so, what worked for you?

Sorry to say but we did not find a resolution to the problem.  After a few hours on the phone with support we just ended up buying a new (Not HP!) printer.

Thanks for your response - unfortunately, i think I'm going to have to do the same as you.  I can't even do a hard/factory reset on this thing.
