My HP DJ 4130e doesn't print what I see on the screen - Windows 10, Word. It also shrinks images. I created a map with arrows pointing to specific places. The print came out with the arrows all over the place.

Hi @VCHwriter,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like you're experiencing issues with printing from your HP DeskJet 4130e on Windows 10, particularly with Word documents not printing as expected and images being resized or misplaced. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try to resolve these issues.

  • Check Printer Settings: Before printing, make sure that the printer settings in Word are configured correctly. Ensure that the paper size, orientation, and other settings match the document you're trying to print.
  • Update Printer Drivers: Ensure that you have the latest drivers installed for your HP DeskJet 4130e. Sometimes outdated drivers can cause printing issues. You can download the latest drivers from the HP website or use the Windows Update feature to check for driver updates.
  • Print Preview: Use the print preview feature in Word to see how the document will look before printing. This can help identify any formatting or layout issues that may be causing the problem.
  • Check Document Formatting: Verify that the document is formatted correctly in Word. Make sure that the page layout, margins, and other formatting settings are set appropriately for your printer and paper size.
  • Adjust Image Size: If images are being resized or misplaced, try resizing them within Word to ensure they fit properly on the page. You can also try copying the images into a graphics editing program (e.g., Paint, Photoshop) and adjusting their size and placement there before inserting them into the Word document again.
  • Print as Image: Some printers have an option to print documents as images, which can help resolve formatting issues. In Word, you may find this option under "Advanced" or "Printer Properties" when you go to print the document.
  • Check Printer Preferences: Within the printer properties or preferences dialog, ensure that any scaling options are disabled. Sometimes printers automatically resize documents to fit the page, which can cause formatting issues.
  • Test with Another Program: Try printing from a different program (e.g., Notepad, Adobe Reader) to see if the issue is specific to Word or if it occurs with other applications as well. This can help narrow down the source of the problem.
  • Restart Printer and Computer: Sometimes simply restarting both the printer and your computer can resolve temporary issues.

By following these steps, you should be able to troubleshoot and resolve the printing issues you're experiencing with your HP DeskJet 4130e on Windows 10.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
