Anytime I print on my HP Smart Tank 7001, the printer will print 2 to 3 copies and then the following copies go off alignment and makes a weird sound.

Hi @Mama67,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like your HP Smart Tank 7001 printer is experiencing alignment issues that are affecting its print quality after several copies. This can be due to a variety of reasons, including mechanical problems, issues with the print head, or even the paper being used. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue:

Check for any error messages: If your printer or connected computer displays any error messages, follow the recommended actions. HP printers often have built-in diagnostics that can guide you through troubleshooting.

Printer Maintenance: Use the HP Smart app or the printer's control panel to run maintenance tasks. This includes aligning the print head and cleaning it. These tasks can help correct print quality issues and realign the printer's system.

Paper Quality and Size: Ensure you're using the correct paper type and size for your print job. Also, check that the paper is loaded correctly in the tray and isn't damaged or too thick/thin for your printer's specifications.

Update Printer Firmware: Make sure your printer's firmware is up to date. HP regularly releases updates to improve performance and resolve known issues. You can update the firmware through the HP Smart app or from the HP website. Click Here

Reset the Printer: Sometimes, resetting the printer can resolve persistent issues. To reset your printer, turn it off, unplug it for a minute, then plug it back in and turn it on. This can help clear any errors and recalibrate the printer.

Check for Obstructions: Open the printer and check for any obstructions or debris that might be causing the alignment issues. This includes looking for stuck paper, pieces of torn paper, or any foreign objects.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
