My laser jet M209dwe will not print anymore. It is networked to my MS Surface running Windows 10. It turns on but very quickly the status light goes from green to white to amber. It will only print a message that says there is a problem and the printer can't print. Where do I start to figure this one out?

Hi @uncle-oscar,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd like to help!
Try the below suggestions -
Reset the product
- With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
- Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
- Wait at least 60 seconds.
- Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
- Reconnect the power cord to the printer.
- Turn the printer on. HP recommends plugging the printer directly into a wall outlet.
Try updating the printer's firmware -HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware
Also, try the steps in the document Blinking lights
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Hi Elohi_NR,
I tried all of your suggestions but no change in status. The HP firmware site said there were no downloads available for my product. The blinking lights would indicate that a door was not closed, but I have open and closed all of the access ports and this still doesn't clear the problem. I can pay HP $20 for telephone help to fix the problem, but I am not confident that will work. Has anyone had success with this method?
