The power went off to our house today.  I came home to find power back on, but printer offline.  Ran Scan and Fix.  Printer is back online, but now when I send a document to the printer, it only prints pages and pages of single or double line code and gibberish. Help!

EDIT: Using an uninstaller software, I uninstalled every bit of HP software, then I removed all printer interfaces in Settings>Devices>Printers.  After that I trialled Bonjour with just the printer which worked well.  Then in order to have access to the scanner from windows fax & scan, I let windows install the printer driver in Settings>Devices>Printers.  When this worked as expected, I removed Bonjour, the printer interface it made, and all the other ones windows installed as well to be sure.  Then I had windows install them again and they work fine.  

Problem Solved.  Don't use the HP Smart app or the software suite.... >_>


Same problem.  Just purchased this printer yesterday.  I plugged it in, connected it to the network and performed a firmware update, which seemed to go a little hinky, then it proceeded to do a self-restart.  Setup on the PC went fine, but the HP Smart Printing app refuses to find the printer after you select it at the print dialogue.  Also, when printing from the main driver interface "HP814F08 (HP OfficeJet Pro 7740 series)" at the print dialogue, instead of "HP Smart Print", The printer spits out a continuous stream of almost blank pages with a line or two of unintelligible characters and  strings of text.

And then a bunch of symbols etc...

 

I feel like there should be a "reinstall firmware" program.. or maybe it's an inoperability issue with windows 11?  I already performed a factory restore on the printer and everything else I could think of.  A program called HP ePrint + JetAdvantage seems to be the only reliable way to print from this printer.  Also when using the Claim code, while it is difficult to navigate to the place where you can claim the printer, once claimed, the printer does not persist as being added to my account.
