HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus e-All-in-One Printer - N911g

my Officejet 8600 Pro printer keep on showing one or more cartridges is damaged, it shows the cartridge is full but when after it make a lot of noise prepared to print, the "cartridge is damaged" error message shows again.  I have done everything their told me to do, clean the printhead, replaced with HP cartridges, reset the printer, reload the software, firmware, everything is up to date.  Does anyone have solution?  if you can help me to clear the messages I will truly appreciate.

Hi @JinsuT,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you’ve tried many of the common troubleshooting steps. Here are a few additional suggestions that might help resolve the "cartridge is damaged" error on your HP OfficeJet Pro 8600 Plus e-All-in-One Printer:

  • Check Cartridge Contacts: Make sure the electrical contacts on both the cartridge and the printer are clean. Use a lint-free cloth and a small amount of distilled water to gently clean these contacts. Let them dry before reinserting the cartridges.
  • Inspect for Obstructions: Ensure there are no obstructions in the cartridge area or any foreign objects that could be causing issues with the cartridge alignment.
  • Reinsert Cartridges: Remove the cartridges and reinsert them, ensuring they click into place properly. Sometimes, simply reseating the cartridges can resolve the issue.
  • Check Cartridge Compatibility: Verify that the cartridges you are using are compatible with your specific printer model. Even though they are HP cartridges, using the wrong type for your model can sometimes cause issues.
  • Test with Known Good Cartridges: If you have spare cartridges or can borrow some, try using those to see if the issue persists. This will help determine if the problem is with the cartridges themselves or the printer.
  • Perform a Printer Reset: Sometimes a more thorough reset can help. Turn off the printer, unplug it from the wall, wait for about a minute, then plug it back in and turn it on.
  • Check Firmware Updates: While you mentioned that the firmware is up to date, double-check the HP website for any new updates or patches that might not have been applied. Update the firmware on an HP printer

I did all the steps submitted for me to do; it did not work.  I bought an ECO Tank Epson printer instead. it doesn't require cartridges.  i have been worked on this printer cartridges problem for a month and I am tired of it.  it cannot be fixed.  I just have to buy another printer.  NO MORE HP.  it is too bad that I really love my HP printer, but it cannot be fixed.
