Steps to Fix HP Smart Tank 6001 Randomly Turning Off

 

1. Perform a Hard Reset

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • Wait 60 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on.

2. Check Power Supply

  • Ensure the printer is plugged directly into a wall outlet, not a surge protector or UPS.
  • Try a different power outlet to rule out electrical issues.

3. Reset Wireless Settings

  • Press and hold the Wireless button for 5 seconds until the light blinks blue.
  • This resets the printer’s network settings.

4. Update Printer Firmware

  • Visit HP’s official troubleshooting page here and download the latest firmware update for your printer.
  • Install the update and restart the printer.

I'm sorry but nothing is working. No matter what my HP Smart App will not recognize my printer. The HP Scan and Print Doctor will not recognize my printer, I have been able to print instructions from HP on how to connect to a network but nothing works, All I get at most is a blinking blue wireless light.
