@Michele9458, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Fixing Alignment Issues on HP DeskJet 2800e!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

If your documents are printing on the left side of the paper with your HP DeskJet 2800e, it could be due to a misalignment or incorrect settings. Here's how you can troubleshoot and fix this issue:

Check Paper Alignment:

  • Make sure the paper is properly loaded in the input tray.
  • Adjust the paper-width guide to fit snugly against the paper stack.

Align the Printhead:

  • Use the HP Smart app to align the printhead. This can improve the alignment of print jobs.
  • Open the HP Smart app, go to "Printer Settings," then select "Print Quality Tools."
  • Choose "Align Printhead" and follow the on-screen instructions to realign.

Printer Settings:

  • Ensure that your print settings in the software application are set to the correct paper size and layout orientations.
  • Verify that you have selected the correct printer model as the default printer in your printer settings.

Software Update:

  • Ensure your printer software is up to date. Visit the HP Support website to download any available updates for your printer model.

Check Print Preview:

  • Before you print, use the print preview feature in your application to make sure the document appears correctly centered.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
