Hi @JackieM4,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP ENVY Pro 6458 All-In-One Printer is experiencing issues with the lights and not functioning properly, you can try the following steps to troubleshoot the problem.
Power Cycle:
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
- Wait for about 5 minutes to allow the printer to cool down.
- Plug the printer back in and turn it on.
Check Connections:
- Ensure that all cables connecting the printer to the power source and the computer are securely connected.
Firmware Update:
- Check if there's a firmware update available for your printer on the HP support website. Updating the firmware can resolve many issues.
Reset the Printer:
- Some printers have a reset option. Check your printer's manual for instructions on how to perform a reset.
Paper Jam:
- Check for any paper jams inside the printer. If there is a paper jam, clear it following the printer's manual.
Ink Cartridges:
- Ensure that the ink cartridges are properly installed and are not empty. Replace any empty or faulty cartridges.
Printer Software:
- Make sure that the printer software on your computer is installed correctly. If not, reinstall the printer drivers.
Wireless Connection:
- If your printer is connected wirelessly, check the Wi-Fi connection and make sure it is stable. You may need to reconnect the printer to the Wi-Fi network.
Factory Reset:
- As a last resort, you can perform a factory reset on the printer. Note that this will erase all settings, so only do this if other troubleshooting steps fail.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
