HP ENVY 5660 e-All-in-One Printer

Printer gives iPad message on screen, “can’t find printer”. The printer will still print wirelessly, and prints more copies than specified (if more than one page)

Hi @Azwebby,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like your HP ENVY 5660 e-All-in-One Printer is encountering a few issues. Here's a breakdown of what might be happening and how to address it.

iPad "Can’t Find Printer" Message

This message usually indicates a connectivity issue between your iPad and the printer. Try these steps:

  • Ensure Both Devices are on the Same Network: Make sure your iPad and printer are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
  • Restart Devices: Restart your printer, iPad, and Wi-Fi router to refresh the connections.
  • Update Software: Ensure your iPad is running the latest version of iOS, and check if there are any firmware updates available for your printer.
  • Reinstall HP Smart App: If you're using the HP Smart app, try uninstalling and reinstalling it on your iPad.

Printing More Copies than Specified

If your printer is printing more copies than you've specified, it could be due to a settings issue or a software glitch:

  • Check Print Settings: Ensure that the number of copies is set correctly in the print dialog box before you send the print job.
  • Update Printer Firmware: Go to the HP website and check if there's a firmware update available for your printer.
  • Reset Printer: Try resetting your printer to its default settings to clear any misconfigurations. Refer to your printer’s manual for instructions on how to perform a reset.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
