HP Photosmart c6180 printer

Just received a brand new c6180 printer in box that I bought off ebay to replace a c6180 that I had that went bad. I love this printer so that is why I bought a new one. I followed the initial set up and it came up that the ink had expired. So I installed new ink that I had that has not expired. Then I got a message that I can't use these and I have to use the original ones to first set up printer. So I reinstalled original and it came up expired again, so I was prompted to push OK and I did. Now all it says is (Initialization Resuming, The one-time initialization process is resuming) and it is was like that for over an hour. I then went and reset the printer and tried again and it has been another hour and still saying the same thing with the orange exclamation mark flashing also.
