Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

I recently got a used HP ENVY 6055 printer as a birthday gift for college use. I've been able to set up the HP app on my computer, and it shows that all the ink and paper levels are fine and that the printer is successfully connected to the computer, yet whenever I try to print something it chugs and acts like it's actually printing only to spit out a blank piece of paper. Both documents and images get this result. I've been trying to troubleshoot for a while now but I can't seem to find the problem, though granted i'm not very knowledgeable with stuff like this. Any advice or help would be appreciated. My PC itself runs on Windows 10 Pro and is relatively capable with things like uploading/downloading large files and playing games so I doubt it's an issue with the computer.

HI @Nate333,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP ENVY 6055 printer is printing blank pages despite having sufficient ink and paper, there could be several reasons behind this issue. Here’s a detailed troubleshooting guide to help you resolve the problem:

1. Check Ink Cartridges

  • Verify Installation: Ensure that the ink cartridges are installed correctly. Remove and reinsert them, making sure they click into place.
  • Check Ink Levels: Even if the app shows levels as fine, it’s worth double-checking the cartridges for any signs of low ink or expiration.
  • Remove Protective Tape: If you installed new cartridges, make sure that any protective tape or plastic covering the ink nozzles has been removed.

2. Clean the Printheads

  • HP Printer Utility: Use the HP printer software to clean the printheads. This can help clear any clogs that might be causing blank prints.
    • Open the HP Smart app or the HP Printer Assistant.
    • Go to Printer Maintenance or Tools, then select Clean Printheads.

3. Align the Printheads

  • Alignment: Sometimes, misaligned printheads can cause printing issues. Use the alignment tool available in the HP software.
    • Go to Printer Maintenance or Tools and select Align Printheads.

4. Check Paper and Print Settings

  • Paper Type and Size: Ensure that the paper loaded in the tray matches the paper settings in the print dialog.
  • Print Quality Settings: Check the print settings on your computer to ensure that you are not set to a very low quality or draft mode that might not be printing properly.

5. Perform a Printer Reset

  • Reset the Printer: Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source. Wait for about 60 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on. This can sometimes resolve issues by resetting internal components.

6. Update Printer Firmware

  • Firmware Update: Check for any available firmware updates for your printer. Visit the HP Support website and look up your printer model for firmware updates.

7. Check for Software Issues

  • Reinstall Printer Drivers: Uninstall and reinstall the printer drivers to ensure there are no software conflicts.
    • Go to Settings > Devices > Printers & Scanners.
    • Remove the HP ENVY 6055 from the list of printers.
    • Download and install the latest drivers from the HP Support website.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
