Hello,
Your printer supports HP 10x15 cm (4x6 in) photo paper: up to 300 g/m² only.
- Borderless printing: Yes (up to 8.5 x 11 in, 216 x 297 mm)
Refer to the following HP document: Blinking Lights and Error Codes in the section Error Codes on the control panel and then Error E1 or E2.
As a first step, please perform a power supply reset on the printer to resolve the error.
- Turn on the printer.
- Before continuing, wait until the printer is idle and silent.
- Disconnect the USB cable from the back of the printer. If your printer has a network or wireless connection, leave it connected.
- With the printer turned on, unplug the power cord from the back of the printer and from the wall outlet.
- Wait at least 60 seconds.
- Plug the power cord into the outlet.
NOTE: HP then recommends reconnecting the printer's power cord directly into a wall outlet.
- Reconnect the power cord to the back of the printer.
- Turn on the printer, if it does not automatically make it.It is possible that the printer goes through a warm-up cycle. It is also possible that the printer lights blink and the carriage moves.
- Wait until the preheat cycle and until the printer is idle and silent before continuing.
- Print a calibration page, if prompted.
- If you disconnected the USB cable, reconnect it to the back of the product.
- Try to print.
Then, please update the printer's firmware.
https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software13/printers/en6000/2124/EN6000_2124B.exe
You can also refer to the HP document: HP print settings guide (Windows, Mac) to check if the print settings are correctly adjusted.

Hello and thanks for your return,
The link in my previous message for the firmware must not be the right one since your printer is one of the HP ENVY 6000e series. Here is the correct firmware link for your printer: https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software13/printers/en6000e/2122/EN6000e_2122A.exe.
Uninstall all software related to your printer (except HP Smart) as follows:
- Unplug the USB cable at the back of the printer, if necessary.
- On the keyboard, simultaneously tap the Windows flag and the R key. The Run window opens.
- Type appwiz.cpl, then OK. The Programs and Features window opens.
- Click the right mouse button on HP ENVY 6000 series Basic Software, then Uninstall and Yes.
Note: If the software uninstall process does not start or an error displays while uninstalling, download Fix problems that block programs from being installed or removed from the Microsoft website, and then try uninstalling again.
- Repeat step 4 with the following software (The list of software for your printer may be different):
- Study for the improvement of the HP ENVY 6000 series product.
- HP Dropbox Plugin
- HP EmailSMTP Plugin
- HP ENVY 6000 series Help
- HP FTP Plugin
- HP Google Drive Plugin
- HP OneDrive Plugin
- HP SharePoint Plugin
- Follow the instructions on the screen to complete the uninstall of the printer.
- Restart the computer.
Launch the registry editor:
- On the keyboard, simultaneously tap the Windows flag and the R key. The Run window opens.
- Type regedit, then OK. The registry editor opens.
- Develop HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, then SOFTWARE, click with the right mouse button on Hewlett-Packard and Delete. (If the PC is HP-branded, develop Hewlett-Packard and remove Digital Imaging)
- Delete the HP ENVY 6000 series folder in the way:
- C:\Program Files\HP
- C:\Program Files (x86)\HP
Rename folder 3 in 3_old in the path below (a restart may be required):
- C:\Windows\System32\spool\drivers\x64.
- C:\Windows\System32\spool\drivers\W32X86.
NOTE: If the file refuses this action do as follows:
- On the keyboard, tap the Windows and X keys simultaneously.
- Click Command Prompt (admin) or Windows PowerShell (admin), and click Yes.
- Type net stop spooler, then press Enter key.
- Rename the file.
- Type net start spooler, then press Enter key.
- Reinstall the printer with HP ENVY 6000 Series Full Software and Drivers.
- Try to print and scan.
Don't hesitate to contact us in case of need.

WOW! , Thanks for your help but all this is a bit above my capabilities .
My HP Envy 6022e is less than a week old and has only done about 15 copies so I think this is a case of the printer not being fit for purpose.
can you direct me to someone who can either fix the problem or replace it.
Regards
Geoff

Hi Thanks for your help BUT I think that the HP Envy 6033e is a load of rubbish. I should not have to do all that you have suggested to a brand new printer < I consider that this printer is NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE.
But thanks for your help anyway

Geoff
